Window Display for Labyrinth Masquerade Ball 2019

Enveloped in darkness on a moonless night in the mossy hills of Ireland, a Sorceress speaks an incantation spell into her scrying dish. Mysterious lights dimly illuminate the ruins that surround her.

About the Gown

🌿Celtic Sorceress Gown🌿
We are incredibly honored that The Labyrinth Masquerade Ball asked us to create a window display gown for the ball in collaboration with Arda Wigs & Sev Gedra Makes! After brainstorming we came up with the theme of "Celtic Sorceress".

🌿Chemise🌿
Her underdress is made of a linen crepe fabric. The sleeve cuffs have a few organic pintucks at the ends, decorated with wisps of copper and cork beads. Under the elbow is wrapped with sage green velvet ribbon. We sewed a spray of copper leaf beads along the neckline in sporadic places to look like the dress has been worn so many times that the fine details were starting to come apart.

🌿Overdress🌿
The bodice of her overdress is a two-tone silk dupioni. We designed and embroidered Celtic knots around the chest and armbands. The Celtic knots around her waist transform into stags leaping towards each other. The chiffon that flows from the bottom of the bodice and sleeves is a custom printed ombre that we designed to look like an autumn sunset. ~ You can find the pattern for this gown HERE and the embroidery files HERE. If you'd like to use our ombre fabric you can find it here in our Spoonflower Store.

Elven model Tathariel was the person I had in mind when making this design. Can you see the resemblance? I’m so honored that she was able to model it with photographer Simplysavannahart 🍃
